About Black Santa Maryland Founders
After welcoming my second child, I yearned for a family photo with Black Santa, hoping to capture the joy and magic of the holidays in a way that reflects our heritage. To my dismay, I discovered that there were no Black Santas available in the Maryland area. It was a profound disappointment, especially considering that African Americans make up over 75% of Maryland’s population. I couldn’t believe Black Santa wouldn’t be part of our community celebrations. After two years of searching without success, I decided to take matters into my own hands and find him myself.

Seeing themselves reflected in positive, joyful holiday experiences fosters a sense of belonging, self-worth, and confidence. This is a special holiday event where families can enjoy a festive atmosphere, take photos with Santa, listen to holiday music, and savor tasty holiday treats. It’s a wonderful way to create lasting memories with your loved ones.

How much does it cost to attend?
Admission fee is collected before photos are taken on Eventbrite website see link above of the date selected , which includes a photo session with Santa, access to holiday music, and complimentary holiday treats for the kids. Additional food and beverages may be available for purchase. Note: Donations of toys and coats are accepted for a 10% discount on photo edits.
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance as spots are limited and this event tends to sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite:

What age group is this event suitable for?
The event is family-friendly and suitable for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. Adults are welcome to join in on the fun too!
Is this event indoors or outdoors?
The Black Santa Photos event on Saturday, Dec 7,2024 and Sunday, Dec 15,2024 will be held indoors.

Yes! We will have a selection of holiday treats such as cookies, hot chocolate, and candy canes available for everyone to enjoy. Additional holiday-themed snacks and drinks will be available for purchase at some selected events.

What can I expect during the photo session with Santa?
Each family will have a few minutes with Santa for a personalized experience. Our photographer will capture these magical moments, and you will receive your printed on demand (2) 4×6 photos with the option to purchase digital edited copies after the session by the photographer Michael Smith- see Santa’s Helper Station for more details at the event.
Are pets allowed at the event?
For safety and comfort, this event is designed for children and families only, so we kindly ask that pets stay at home unless ADA approved for medically necessary. Please email us at info@blacksantamaryland.com
Is there a dress code?
There is no formal dress code, but we encourage families to come in their holiday outfits, festive sweaters, or pajamas for a fun and cozy experience.
Can we bring our own holiday treats?
To ensure the safety of all guests, we ask that you do not bring outside food to ensure the holiday treats are joyed.
Will there be any holiday activities for the kids?
Yes! In addition to photos with Santa, there will be holiday-themed music, dancing, and a coloring station to capture the holiday spirit.
Is there parking available at the event location?
Yes, there will be FREE parking available at the locations listed on the flyer. We recommend arriving early to secure a spot, especially if you have a scheduled photo time.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel my ticket?
Please contact us at 1-757-303-9403 as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel your ticket. Cancellations made at info@balcksantamaryland.com however no refunds as a result.
Will Santa be available for different time slots throughout the day?
Yes, Santa will be available for photo sessions throughout the event upon your scheduled time. When you purchase your ticket on Eventbrite, this secures your admission fee and (2) 4×6 printed on demand photos. In addition, to your holiday tasty treats.
You will receive a link to select your date and time for your pictures with Santa.
Followed by an email confirm from the Eventbrite and your booked slot with selected time and date that works best for your family.
